HLF Furniture, Inc. is a recognized supplier of office furniture systems, contract casegoods, library furniture, architectural millwork, pre-engineered casework, and store fixtures.  Its products find application in offices, banks, libraries, health care facilities, schools and universities throughout the country.  Founded in 1974, HLF has been an innovator throughout its existence.

Originally having gained recognition as a supplier of conference tables, occasional tables, and custom office furniture, HLF pioneered modular laminate casegoods in the 1980’s.  Its Express Series defined the early evolution of the rectilinear laminate workstation.  The Basics Series was a premier value entrant, and the Woodstock Series was the first in this category to marry hardwood edges with the durability and design flexibility of laminate.

HLF next developed the Counterpoint(TM) line as a worksurface based office furniture system. When it was introduced in 1992 it forged a major departure from traditional panel-based cubicles and modular casegoods.  Its genesis was embodied in the idea that the workstation is defined by the task to be performed, not by the linear division of space.  Thus, the worksurfaces are shaped to suit the nature of the work, and upper and lower storage, support, and visual and acoustical elements are added to facilitate this end.  This concept allowed the application of Counterpoint to needs which ranged from private and open plan offices to such specialized requirements as bank teller lines and nurses stations.
